The Wandering Fox comes in through the door with a foul mood.

“Oh great! Another f****** rewrite for this s*** arse blog in the quietest f******* corner on the internet! Where’s the shippers!? Where’s the fans!?”

“Rewind sounds”

Uh, yeah, you see that? That’s another version of me who tried taking over the essay, he comes from the Swear Universe where everybody swears like a sailor. I’ve helped him home now. Now, where was I? Oh yeah.

Gosh oh man what do we have? A rewrite? Of Helluva Boss? Oh gosh this is gonna have a few people looking at me.

I thought of finally doing a Helluva Boss rewrite after the last few episode releases left me feeling a bit gutted with how it’s darted through much stuff to get to where it is. I feel Millie’s character development came too late, Loona calling Blitzo dad needed more episodes devoted to them developing, Stolas keeps forgetting his promise to Octavia, Blitzo’s sister didn’t even need to be introduced as she hardly had anything to do with Happy Campers. It’s why I’m here thinking of rewriting the series.

I only hope Vivienne and the crew aren’t going to get angry at me for this. I’m not trying to say “Vizziepop sucks” or “These writers are idiots”. I’m just here thinking about the show and how, if it was maybe picked up by Amazon and Vivienne and her team had more animators and writers on board, they might’ve had a more straightened series without much plot headaches or the fans being uncertain of what they’re being given

Okay, so with this, let’s dive in.

What stays the same? Or what changes?

Season 1

The majority of season 1 can stay the same with some tweaks here and there to the writing and more episodes. The most differences I would make with season 1’s episode formulae is doing an episode in hell, then an episode on Earth, the hell episodes are dedicated to character development with IMP and Stolas, the Earth episodes are about the missions IMP do.

The hell episodes especially cam help establish much earlier Stella is abusive to Stolas as there are fans who question if Stella was rewritten to be like this in season two, help show she’s manipulative by not doing anything to Stolas in front of Octavia, thus making Stolas in a difficult way of struggling to tell Octavia her loving mother has abused him.

Millie did have her family in the first season but it was taken from her to develop Moxxie. Why not keep this episode but do a follow up with Millie staying home for a bit and her family sees how much she’s changed since she left? The changes Millie has gone though could help convince Sally May to go to the city. This also helps give us hints of what Millie’s life was like before meeting Blitzo and Moxxie, with her as a bounty woman and having worked with Chas could’ve been hinted at here.

I’d have it be revealed halfway Stolas and Blitzo do remember each other from their childhood, just to help establish it before season two delves in on it.

Have an episode dedicated to Loona. Yeah, her meeting Beelzebub was a focus on her, but let’s see Lorna’s thoughts on things, how she looks at Blitzo, her coming to do work, living a life beyond the cells, how in a way she’s got lucky compared to other hellhounds who are constantly suffering; hence she comes to begin opening up to Moxxie and Millie.

The Cherubs episode would be changed a little to avoid having bystanders killed. The same would go for Verosika’s debut episode, instead of it happening at a public beach with bystanders being killed, do it at a private getaway where lowlifes hang out together and IMP has to kill them before Verosika can seduce them?

The Earth episodes are more action focused and could take the Mickey out of many film genres, especially the slasher stuff. If an Imp can costume as Freddy and Charlie can give Jason a cupcake, why not do an episode in which they have to fight and kill a slasher like villain? Fight secret societies who are cults. Do an underwater episode. And try to stop exposing the Imps to the humans.

Stolas has a few episodes dedicated to him coming to realise he’s still somewhat bigoted towards Imps as he still looks down upon them and has derogatory words for them, with him beginning to realise he’s made things somewhat uncomfortable for Blitzo and agrees to stop the sex bargain much earlier before the finale. Octavia could have a part in this with her maybe studying how Imps and Hellhounds are treated and is often seen treating her Imp servants more respectfully. It could do with her meeting Loona earlier.

The finale can be sorta the same, only if Stolas has stopped the sex deals, he tries to treat Blitzo more respectfully and takes him out on a date to Ozzies, but this only screws things up with Fizzaroli and Verosika there still hurt and upset at Blitzo while Stolas is frowned upon by Ozzie for cheating on his wife, hence Stolas and Blitzo give each other some space. Stolas chooses to focus on Octavia and the divorce while Blitzo focuses on the job. Loona meets Beelzebub, helps Blitzo home.

Season 2

Season 2 would have to undergo drastic changes.

The first episode is mostly the same though Blitzo and Stolas coming to meet each other again as adults goes differently. Yes, Stella still has her party, though Stolas leaves the home and gets drunk. Blitzo is also drunk and stumbles, he’s had a fight with Loona and thinks he can’t get anything right. He and Stolas drunkenly talk to each other then Blitzo takes him inside, the drink gets the better of them and they have sex. Blitzo wakes up, realises what he’s done and flees, taking the Grimore. Stolas is happy to have had the sex and finds Blitzo, hence they make the sex deal. However, Stolas now feels dreadful as he can tell now he’s treated Blitzo like a sex toy than as his lover, he’s hurt his daughter, hence he wants to focus on the divorce and Octavia.

Seeing Stars is sorta the same, only Loona is angry with Blitzo as he’s still hungover and angry from the night out with Stolas, hence Loona goes with Octavia after finding her stealing the book. They flee to California where they talk of their fathers, how Blitzo came to Loona and Octavia loves her father. Blitzo and Stolas go looking for them, with them both quite nervous with each other until they find them. There’s no Loona crushing Blitzo’s nutsack. They both comfort their dads and understand they are in pain with Octavia wanting to listen to her dad while Loona thanks Blitzo in giving her a life.

Exes and Ohs is the same only Moxxie ends up freeing himself during the climax and kills a few guards then holds Crimson at gunpoint. Millie though helps Moxxie walk away.

Western Energy is kinda the same, only Blitzo talks with Stolas at the end. Stolas just begs Blitzo to make sure Octavia is safe from Striker.

Happy Campers would be MUCH DIFFERENT. Instead of Barbie Wire debuting in this episode, it’s just focused on the Camp theme. I know they can’t have Jason appear in this but they could have easily had this take the Mickey out of Friday the 13th. It can have a expy of Jason in heaven while his mum is in hell, with her wanting Blitzo to kill whoever it was who killed her son. IMP go undercover with Millie bonding with the kids while Moxxie and Blitzo trying to find clues on the killer. Millie is lured to a trap by the killer who likes to kill “ugly” campers, he’s a bigot who hates the camp being a support scheme for those with disabilities. They end up killing him, though Blitzo feels a bit unnerved by this as he thinks of Fizzaroli and Barbie.

There’d be an episode dedicated to Blitzo having Loona meet her aunt Barbie, who’s out of rehab and trying to move on with her life. Though Barbie is angry Blitzo is here, Loona scolds her for not giving him a chance. They end up fighting a few old colleagues of Barbie, by which Barbie is understanding Blitzo is trying and suggests he talk to Fizzaroli next.

The episode is true to its source material, though Stolas goes to Asmodeus for the Crystal and says he wants to give Blitzo as much of space as he can, while explaining his abuse by Stella. Crimson’s deal with Striker has him steal Asmodean Crystals as he wants to do his own job of killing on Earth.

We have the episode of Fizzaroli quitting Mammon.

The Dhorks and Cherub team up is it’s own episode with Dhorks and Cherub trying to take over Hell but are defeated by IMP during a fight at Asmodeus’s home, with Verosika and Barbie helping. Crimson however has Striker steal a few Asmodean Crystals for him, with Mammon helping him.

The final lot of episodes has nothing to do with Stolas and Blitzo’s crap but instead has IMP’s trip to the hotel have them find out about Crimson. They explain this to Asmodeus, who figures Crimson had help from Mammon and he keeps him distracted while IMP fight Crimson and Striker. Crimson is killed by Moxxie, though he reveals he didn’t kill his mum. Striker loses a limb and flees.

I honestly don’t think I’d even adapt Apology Tour as I think that was much too much for Blitzo, though I would dedicate an episode to him and her finally healing their wounds with Blitzo apologising for breaking her heart and hopes she finds somebody better than him.

That would be how I’d have done the episodes.

With them done with, let’s look at the characters.

I have already gone over what Millie needed in season one, hint at her past as a bounty Hunter and Chas, focus on her and her family. Season two could have devoted an episode to Millie thinking of how she met Chas and what had her come to hate him, maybe Chas cheated on her and had said he’d give her a happier life only he broke her heart. I know we had her and Moxxie’s first meeting thanks to the flashback in the Ghost episode, but it was more focussed on her and Blitzo, hence dedicate to why she fell in love with Moxxie. Millie is the Imp who tries her hardest to give relationship advice to Blitzo but ends up thinking Loona and Octavia are dating which pisses Loona off. Millie is the Imp who also tries to help have everybody’s spirits up with them up against a challenge

Moxxie is easy really. Stop treating him as a comic relief, stick to his development and let him be the guy who defeats Crimson. Oh and make it still he is the clever Imp who has to get Blitzo to listen to him. Moxxie still has his heartfelt moments in how he is disgusted with the camper who kills those he’s bigoted with. Oh and he doesn’t end up jealous of Millie in Happy Campers.

Blitzo, the most you can do with him is stop him treating Moxxie like he’s a utter waste even after they reconciled, have him get some wins instead of trampling on him, he stands up for himself against Stolas a lot earlier on, try not to make him sex crazy for Striker and Chas, and he has true fatherly moments with Loona in how he tries helping her be happy with all she has now.

Stolas honestly needs a lot of character reworking, as I have seen some fans come to really not like him, some feeling he was very coercive of Blitzo, and still is bigoted towards Imp, and I do have problems with him in not thinking of his daughter. Stolas has to be called out for his bigotry earlier and have him realise earlier he’s not treating Blitzo as respectfully as he should do. Have him be dedicated to Octavia. He then begins to think of having things changed for imps and hellhounds, which can help in not just his relationship with Blitzo but his Imp workers. He ends the sex deal after he sees he’s not making Blitzo comfortable and comes to realise he’s just treating him like a sex doll, hence he steps back and though he tries to treat Blitzo to a night out, he feels he’s let him down, so he agrees to step back again. This will not only let Blitzo feel relieved, but it lets him and Stolas begin to really develop true feelings for each other.

Octavia does more with her being a princess who does her work and is wanting to do things right, with her wanting to help the hellhounds. This has her meet Loona a lot earlier with Octavia, though a teen, wants to help others which has Loona awkward though ends up liking Octavia, thankful not all royalty hates hellhounds. Octavia does end up a little gutted upon knowing Loona is Blitzo’s daughter, though Octavia ends up not letting this bother her. Octavia loves her mum who, as we can see in the background photos, did try to keep things happy for Octavia while she was young, yet Octavia does have her doubts on her mum loving her. However, Octavia is a teen and ends up an emotional wreck if her mum and dad argue, with her darting out of the mansion and goes with Loona, tearfully asking why her mum and dad hate each other, thinking still they were happy before Blitzo came back. Loona does comfort her and offers her to come and get away with her if things get a bit much in the mansion.

I think Stella has to be a lot more complex. Yes, she’s not a nice character, though it oughta have been done earlier she’s abusive to Stolas before he slept with Blitzo. The most I would do is have Stolas having a bruised eye in a flashback to Octavia’s childhood, and Octavia can just hear her dad cry out in hurt. Stella could love her daughter but with the affair she now wants to take Octavia away from Stolas just to hurt him, which only has Octavia ending up more frustrated and upset with her family arguing still.

Crimson is there as a big baddie for the second season, with Moxxie killing him helping us see how stronger Moxxie has gotten through the series, though Crimson ends up leaving Moxxie a tiny hint his mum might be still alive. Crimson also wants to work with IMP to have a lot of criminal activities on Earth, only with it going awry, he turns to Striker and Mammon. He wants to do all kinds of things, send the undead back up to Earth to kill, he makes money out of it, he takes a few stuff from Earth like guns and stuff. Crimson is killed by Moxxie who shoots him in the legs then strangled him, wanting him to feel the same agony his mother went through then shoots his brains out.

Barbie is recovering from rehab and trying to stay clean. She’s angry to meet Blitzo again and doesn’t want to have him though upon knowing Loona she can see Blitzo is wanting to make a change. Barbie is willing to give him a chance and meets Millie and Moxxie and reunites with Fizzaroli, who helps explain Blitzo tried talking to him at the hospital.

Asmodeus and Fizzaroli are mostly the same.

Future

Honestly, I’m going to wait until Sinsmas is out to have me think of what I’d do with another season of Helluva Boss, then I can know of what to do later.

Conclusion

I don’t know if anybody will like this or not. I hope Vizziepop doesn’t bitter by this. I’m still quite happy with the work she’s done, though I feel it could have done with some tweaks here and there. But still, what do you think of Helluva Boss lately? Do you think the series has lost its juice, or do you think it’s still going well? Tell me what you think down below.

Later.
