A link to my original passion project https://www.webtoons.com/en/challenge/astral-ki/list?title_no=636144There's only one episode that was released like a year ago and the second part is currently W.I.P.
Oh yeah, and I need to point out that in-comic art right now may be lackluster but I'm trying to work on that (but can't make it look too detailed as I need to save time and energy).
I'm also gonna drop some character concepts if you don't mind.
Starting with the protagonist herself, Akari. She is an anthropomorphic mix of a tanuki and a cat and aside from being a super-strong martial artist combatant, she has this power that is the titular Astral Ki, which she is trying to discover what it is. Throughout the series, she would gain abilities such as hand blasts and astral projection, which are part of the titular source.
Jiverie Magison (anthropomorphic bunny and butterfly mix) is the first companion Akari meets. She is usually seen as an optimistic happy-go-lucky girl and the healer of the group with her magic that can repair broken items, heal wounds, and provide ropes made of glitter.
Gel Tempest is a mix of a red panda (that isn't red as you see) and an arctic fox. In his earliest years he was a parentless prisoner in camps. When he got rescued by a guerilla, he ended up as the sole survivor of an aircraft crash on the frozen island of Santana. There, he met a former and retired hero from who he gained his ice powers. As a character, he is very timid and usually prefers to work alone. As kind and shy as he usually appears, Gel is desperate to keep calm so he could prevent his ice powers from going uncontrollable. (you can think of his personality as a mix of Ray the Flying Squirrel and Whisper the Wolf if you want)
Gmaz is of an alien race called Xeln. His home planet got destroyed by vicious aliens that also invaded Valmeia (but are fallen back to serve for Legionarium) and his biggest goal is to get revenge on Usurprex Morbia, the leader of aliens responsible for the destruction of his planet and his species. Gmaz specializes in both tech and combat making him useful once he joins the freedom champions of Tsubastion.
This is actually one of the more side characters, Lexi Brawnskip the Kangaroo. She is the hero of a small village in Valmeia's equivalent of Australia (of course). While her village is in fact not a domed city which makes it very vulnerable but Lexi more than makes up for its defense with her incredible strength (both inner and especially physical).
Cymagor is the main villain of Astral Ki. He is the leader of Legionarium, a militant faction made of elites with the most strict of ideals. Formerly existed as an anthropomorphic hybrid of owl and ape named Marcus Xinghan, he got lost in space during the war with extraterrestrials (led by Morbia) but managed to find a source where he managed to transfer his anthropomorphic animal body to a mechanical one. He holds the power that enables him control over tech and machinery, but outside of that he is an expert in combat and science, but his greatest weapon was always his mind for he has a talent in manipulation. Cymagor is a totalitarian ruler, but he sees himself as a teacher, for which his associates agree.
A side villain that I had fun coming up with. Jira the orca (or killer whale if you want) was a ''failed'' superpower experiment recruit that worked more than a little too well which resulted in him becoming a monster with nothing but lust for destroying everything he sees. But Jira's biggest feat is that he is literally indestructible and even all forces of Legionarium cannot destroy him, so they have to keep him in the most secured of cells.
There are also many other characters (both important to the story and side) but I still have yet to draw them.
Posting some concept art of some places in the world of this series if you don't mind.
Stratodome Cities are rare safe zones in a world under occupation. Tsubastion is the name of a Stratodome city where the main character Akari and co reside.
Valmeia is a planet made of floating islands. The world is inhabited by anthropomorphic animal specimen and contains magic and high tech. The four moons are often believed to be the sources of all energy on Valmeia (Cycla of time, Bitlax of technology, Floraia of nature, and Spirad of dreams and visions).
Cave Ferocsram.
Legionarium is the main villain faction of the series, they rule the largest portion of Valmeia with an iron fist.
Floating Ringcaverns contain rare crystals that not only levitate but also make anything that holds them float.
Gehumbrum is a surreal dimension between reality and Shadhaarn (this universe's equivalent of hell).
